Airbus and Air France CEOs meet together to address the A350 order and A380 issues

According to Le Tribune information, Fabrice Brégier and Alexandre de Juniac (Airbus and Air France´s CEOs), met on 26/October morning to address A350 order –in stand by since some months- and A380 issues; compensation about technical problems encountered by the airline but also possibilities of postponement of the 2 last A380 beyond 2015.

Air France said 4 days later these meeting, they have claimed Airbus to compensate for the loss of profits linked to many A380 delays/cancellations due to technical problems (lack of maturity), confirming information of  Les Echos. Not only regarding cracks discovered in the structure of the wings which supposes an estimated  loss of profits of around 30 to 50 million euros.

These technical problems which, in general, can be managed at the operational level have been treated at the highest level between both CEOs who know each other well.

They also discussed concerning negotiations on #25 A350 XWB order which MOU -memorandum of understanding- was signed a year ago and has still not been converted into firm order. In September, Alexandre de Juniac said in that discussion could still take several months due to discussions with Rolls-Royce on engine maintenance. And from now on, it is linked also to A380 claim.
